Samuael Topiary a étudié l'art dramatique à l'Université de New York. Auteure de trois pièces, actrice, elle se consacre ensuite à la danse et à des spectacles multidisciplinaires alliant vidéo, diapositives, textes et danses improvisées. Atalanta est son premier film.
Samuael Topiary is an interdisciplinary media artist, performer, filmmaker and writer based in Brooklyn, NY. Obsessed with metaphor and cultural context, Topiary's work crosses genres, integrating documentary and essay with dance and performance, to create poetic meditations on the ways that myth, archetype and allegory inform contemporary experience. Topiary's videos, performances, collaborations and installations have been presented in film festivals, theaters, galleries and museums in venues through the US and internationally. Topiary received an MFA in Film/Video from Bard College and currently teaches film at the School for Visual Arts in New York City and at CUNY's College of Staten Island.
