Barb TAYLOR

Barb Taylor is a filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada. Her artwork focuses on contemporary feminist themes, addressing questions of women's sexuality, gender and the heroism of everyday women. Her animation draws on traditional drawing and watercolour practices while incorporating contemporary expressions of gender roles. Barb was recently awarded the Inside Out Festival's Jury Award for Up and Coming Toronto Film Maker. In 2006 she received the 2006 CBC Canadian Reflections Award, given to an emerging female filmmaker, for her current film "Tomboy". Her films have shown around the world in locations such as the Australian Mardi Gras Film Festival and Chicago International Children's Film Festival.
